2025 October 14. Recovered password and successfully logged into Goodreads after almost two years 😆😄

This book is like a cup of good, strong, hot coffee - it wakes you up to certain aspects of American living. Having read 4/5 of this book, I feel equally angry and sad, but mostly sad... and something else. It's not a happy feeling. I'm not scared at what I've read - but yeah, it's not a good feeling.

The venerable Dr Oz (tv doctor, the same!) is one of the two authors of this book? Ok.

Goddamn that first chapter. Powerful stuff.

Just returned two big 12+ lb bags full of TPBs (trade paperbacks) to the local PL, public library. What was I thinking? Finished most of them, easy enough, when you're relaxing after the long day. But the sheer volume of these books. Have shifted gears from short, punchy TPBs (not less substantial than say, novels) to full books. Less pictures more words. Of course, slower absorption times - but that's the point, no?

So far so good. A few dog-ears. Nothing too outrageous.

Was unable to finish. (Not surprised.)

Not as easy flowing as the first, but still quite the page-turner.

Excellent narrative!

Picked this up before but was put off by the weirdness of it. That same weirdness (and a reduction of my reluctance to get into) is the same reason why I'm currently reading this.
