I am reading this book to better understand how a soccer mom can go from taking an opioid after an injury to an accidental overdose from IV heroin/fentanyl. I know the answer is “addiction” but I still need to understand the jump from oral pills to shooting heroin. (Notwithstanding Lou Reed’s Velvet Underground song, “Heroin.” If you don’t know it, listen to it!
