Ugh, this book is full of micro-aggrressions. Such frequent ableism.

The middle third of the book has not lived up to the promise of the first third. Wondering if I was right to quit reading the ARC when I did. I'm in it now, I'm heading for the end.

Tammy is 33% done with Meddling Kids

So I bought the book when I read NPR praising it. I had hoped it would clean up well and that seemed to mean it did. But, okay, see, they did not edit out "he tragi-chuckled" as a dialogue tag. That's where I quit last time. I'm soldiering on but like the word implies it's work. (The dog doesn't sniff, he nose-scans. He tail-nods. I cannot with this nonsense.)
