The second chapter was amazing. We get to read about Ivan Ilyich’s whole life story. And his life was pleasant for the most part, despite his rough married life. The death of his children doesn’t seem to affect him that much. He places his while identity and wellbeing on his work life, neglecting his family. I am interested to see what happens next.

Interesting first few pages. It hooked me from the get go. It’s focussing on the obnoxious and self-centered nature of bureaucracy.
