Does Theo ever sleep?
Really.
Night patrol and so many activities during the day.
Also, the days seem crazy short.

It was fun....like reading Hedda's column. You know it's not all true, but it is as close to scandalous as I will come close too...
...but then it just got too mean. Especially since 90% of it isn't true.

I'm off to the non-fiction section!

Jennifer is on page 73 of 222 of Auschwitz: A Doctor's Eyewitness Account
This may be the most difficult book I have ever read.
Nyiszli is so clinical, it make him seem...not detached, but willing.
But the doctor's 'bed side manner' may be what kept him...alive? I wanted to say 'sane', but...this was the center circle of hell.

I dont remember past Michener books being this misogynistic. But in each story/chapter, we have the Brave Man who is always brought down by the Tempting Woman. Or the Scheming Woman.

Culliname is just disgusting. He is once again fantasying about the woman who has told him no multiple times, but believes that he will carry her away from the desert to Chicago. Imagining the thanks and the name change that would be in his report. How 'saucy'.

This Cullinane Bar-El 'romance' in the first chapter is just...unnecessary. Also, a number of these paragraphs should be in that "man writes about a woman" site. He grabs her and kisses her, she pulls away and laughs, then she slaps him and concludes with sobbing on his chest.
Gross. The first chapter is set in the 60s; It shouldnt be this bad.
