If a thriller can’t get me out of my reading slump, I don’t know what else to do 😩

Early days but I am shocked how unlikeable the protagonist is, wow

I had no idea Frankenstein was set in Chamonix, what a treat to read the writings of the valley, mountains, glaciers and rivers that I spent weeks hiking last year and all in such lavish philosophical contemplations. I wish I was back there, one of the best trips I’ve done

This is refreshing! Bring back well written books! Reading this is like reading beauty on a page, it is immediately obvious how this became a classic spoken of in the same sentences as the Brontë sisters’ novels and I’m not even up to the gothic horror parts yet. I love an old book that can convey how universal the human experience is decades or centuries later.

I couldn’t get invested. The characters had no emotion despite heavy back stories and WWII setting. It felt like a chore to pick up this book.

Kind of bored tbh, this book has no emotion, it may become a DNF unless it picks up soon

I am loving this, can’t put it down

this plot reminds me a lot of Mistborn so far, which I love as that idea had so much potential but Sanderson just wasn’t the right writer for me. I prefer more character depth and dare I say purple prose. Hopefully Bardugo pulls it off, I like the multi POV in six of crows so far too

A graphic rape scene only 8 mins into the book… not impressed. God forbid a writer show dystopia without women being raped. Lazy writing

Welp they just killed off my favourite character of the book. Safe to say, I loathe Lysander and can’t bear to finish this yet because I just want to see him die for this and I know he won’t until the series finale ugh !!!!!

I’d forgotten how much I like Juliet Marillier’s writing

This reminds me a lot of The Natural Way of Things by Charlotte Wood

150 pages into a 1049 page book and I’m strugglingggg despite smashing through the first four books 😩 how is this everyone’s favourite of the series

It feels like Dumbledore is narrating the audiobook, very whimsical
