An incredibly fascinating read so far. I picked up this book after realising I had little to no knowledge on local politics and with the general elections approaching (not 21 yet, just want to at least know what’s going on). The book details the origins of the PAP and Singapore’s political history, offering valuable insights to otherwise undisclosed events in history.

What a shift it was from the time of the Prophet’s SAW rule to that of the khulafa’s RA. Othman’s RA reign stood out to me the most, due to its striking relevance to modern issues; institutionalised oppression, discrimination, & rioting. Even as a well-meaning leader (as the 4 of them were), he still faced accusations of discrimination, and his life ultimately ended at the hands of oppressed rioters.
