Chapter 1 - Lightning Never Strikes Twice - was almost all about what lightning is and how lightning conductors do or don’t work. Only the last paragraph finally gave two examples with very little detail of lightning striking in the same place more than once. In any case, this is hardly a big misconception - just a reasonable figure of speech.
Could be a little more rigorous.

I’m persevering with this book, even though it seems to me to be literary film-flam. I find myself totally incurious about whether or where the diamonds are found or whether the main protagonists get together.

Just returned to reading a chapter a week. It’s hard going but worthwhile.
