Quanto mais eu leio esse livro, pior fica a escrita. Só pra terem noção, acabei de ler o seguinte:

Comecei a ler esperando um romance gótico lésbico e dei de cara com uma fantasia com um sistema de magia e gárgulas falantes, mas resolvi dar uma chance porque eu tenho uma grande obsessão por O Fantasma da Ópera e suas adaptações (quem me conhece sabe!).
Acontece que só com esses primeiros capítulos eu já anotei diversos problemas, então se eu conseguir terminar esse livro, vai ser com as expectativas lá embaixo.

meatbun always goes an extra mile when describing horrific things. nobody simply dies, they have to go through the most vile, dehumanizing, heartbreaking things first.

I know I said I'd try another week, but reading the second week chapter made me reconsider the whole thing. The "poisonous playmate" thing comes across as some arrogant, condescending BS that encourages a concerning approach to one's interpersonal relationships.
I once saw someone jokingly say this book is like a cult, but I'm not sure it was a joke anymore.
All things considered, it's just not for me. DNF.

WEEK 1: I started this on a whim with the lowest of expectations. Though I understand all the god talk as ambiguous and up to interpretation, I really dislike it. Also, the affirmations thing irks me greatly. Even so, I like the exercise of morning pages and some other prompts in the book and, taking some creative liberties, I think it could be a useful tool. Will do another week, but possibly drop it later.
