I fear this book does not have an HEA…

So much of the shit in this book could’ve been solved by LOCKING A FUCKING DOOR. Where in the hell was this woman’s editor?!

There is a gratuitous amount of child abuse in the first half of this book. Chloe Walsh could have cut the first half in half and still had that heavy impact feeling. Instead, it’s approaching a level of trauma porn such that I’m almost becoming numb to it. Her editor did her a disservice by letting the book be this freaking long.

This is easily one of the hardest reads I’ve experienced in a while. I can only read about so much child abuse before I can’t pick the book up anymore.

This book is so heavy, it’s approaching unenjoyable.

I was genuinely not prepared for how long this book is.

GIBSIE DESERVES SO MUCH BETTER THAN THIS!

And honestly, so did Claire. This dropped bombshell deviated from her character so much. F*ck Chloe Walsh for ruining a character for the drama.

I just keep screaming into the void, “Gibsie deserves so much better than this!”

This book is one giant miscommunication trope and it’s driving me crazy. Also, if this author uses the word “sexily” one more time, I’m going to DNF this book.

Can Lizzie just go away? She’s hands down the worst character in this series and Gibsie deserves so much better for his book. I get that their stories tie in but she’s a side character in this and she’s getting too much airtime.

I guess I was due for some more emotional damage. Predicted forecast: bawling my eyes out.

I have a feeling these books are going to wreck me.

This feels like it’s longer than it needs to be…

The MMC is really starting to annoy me.

The world building has been great but it’s starting to feel like it should have been a shorter book…

I’m so glad this is living up to the hype so far.

If this book ends on a cliffhanger, I’m going to riot.

I don’t know why I’m surprised that this FMC is just as dumb in this book as she was in the first.

This book would be so much more enjoyable if the FMC wasn’t so colossally dumb.

And now I’m in a deep dive trying to see if Lauren Blakely and Helena Hunting frequently reference each other’s series in their books.

Helena Hunting has never met a third act break up she didn’t put in a book.

Hot take: “Kitten” is the cringiest pet name/term of endearment ever to exist.
