Disappointed that I'm at 73% and the story hasn't progressed very far. I could dnf cos I'm not a fan of Anne.. I wish she wasn't as obsessed with his sexy looks and wild demeanor. She continually shows that she sees him like all the reporters and public see him .. as a 1 dimensional character.

Dnf cos there wasn't enough going on parallel to the tropes to pull me onwards.

I want Gemma to clearly be smarter than me which means to have researched IVF and absorbed information from forums. I loved the bit about wanting to children and the bit about the lullaby but she seemed so clueless when it came to anything expected. If she didn't know I preferred she asked smart questions. How could she start this process with Josh but know how involved he wanted to be?!

Do I need underwear that has a pocket?! Where can I get one??

I forgot to check where I was when I stopped. I'm an idiot for not reading the synopsis. Not a romance, duh! This book was already getting intense for me and stopped reading. It was after she left the restaurant where she watched him and the woman he was with eating and talking.

Her character and past didn't seem connected. For her trauma to be tied to her physical worth she seemed unaffected by the word 'perfect' in every day life.

Not sure how far I'll be able to read

DNF. couldn't see how the story would progress to keep going. There was just too much of the book left for me for there to be this slump.

Love the illustrated cover of the lying in the grass. I kinda like the characters.

The first question I had for myself was, what did I think of Abby's previous books again? I think there was one that was okay and another I loved-loooved.
I read the summary in the opener and all I could think was this book could tear me up! I hope this book has all the feels! Can't wait to start.

Okay, it's too awkward. So much awkwardness and I already get that enough in my own life. I tend to love the characters that are funnier and can at least fake confidence.
I don't think it's good to skip more pages right? I'll just dnf.

Not a fan of long pity parties and even when Rosie caught Lucas asleep in the diner it still felt like it was about her. I am not pulled in. I think I'll be doing some page skipping.

This book may be too long for me.

We're jumping right in and I'm loving it already. Already quite funny. Can't wait for more.

There's too much of this book left! I'm not a fan of hot and cold behaviors and mixed signals. Both are cowardice and selfish.
It also wouldve been fantastic if they had told Rafe right away considering Wren was upset she wasn't told from the beginning about the secret and Moody felt guilty for being dishonest. It was a bit awful. It was too bad they didn't talk about the experience of finding out when ones adopted

The blow up between Kenzie and Andrew is grey with both sides having a point but if I had to pick a side it would be Andrew. I think we're all old enough to realize when we've been drinking alcohol, so I think Kenzie's excuse is a bit crap. Kenzie's speech when Andrew shows up the next day is hypocritical.

I wish

- he felt guilty for not thinking about why she was so fond of Christmas when she brought up her memories surrounding her Christmases with her grandparents but there's nothing on why he doesn't like Christmas or hint of any story depth there.

DNF. I wasn't invested in the characters anymore and it didn't see what obstacle they had to overcome.

I was weird that she wasn't upfront about the one night stand when she knew she was going to ignore him the next day. She should've pushed the apology when they talked again. He thought he wasn't enough to deserve her when she ghosted him!

Okay! I finished reading part 3 (of 4) from Penny Reid's newsletter and I fear I will be devastated when July's edition comes out because I will have wished more time to be spent with Milo and Alice.
I had just reread the past parts too and I love them. Penny always makes the best characters, ones that tug on your heart strings.

Not sure how she will wrap this up. But I can't wait to find out.

I was just starting part 3/June newsletter, where Milo talked more about his feelings for Alice that I realized part 2 was a bit of a bland blur for me, probably reading it when I was ridiculously distracted or something. Deciding to go back to May's newsletter I reread it and I was swooning tonight and so very anxious for Alice and Milo.

When I check how much more of the book I have left it's because I'm wondering how fast they will take to wrap this book up, it's getting a little slow. The serious problems that Corinne has continues to come up repeatedly and I guess that emphasizes that she does play a passenger in her own life. But also the role women are forced into without threatening their career's ascent.

I've been reading and skimming. And I'm still disappointed about how they're putting Ava's career on a lower priority. It'd be nice if she was proactive about finding another job in case she did get fired. Or why couldn't they contemplate dealing with her travelling as a serious reality at least at the beginning of their relationship.

DNF. I really wanted them to find a way to not jeopardize her career. Although I stopped pretty early to actually know what happened I had hoped that she would've become great friends with his sisters and would've been welcomed into the family fold that way while she was on contract with the company.

I liked the writing but it there was something about it that seemed slow. I had looked at how far I was in the book a few times and thought about how much more there was to go. I needed Tyler's story to provide more breadcrumbs and his evading of the police questioning seemed too serious and dragged me down. I like their 20 questions bit.

Strange not to mention how the name Thuy is pronounced. "Twee." Why wouldn't she have introduced herself or why didn't GramBea say her name?

I think we could've started the book at chapter 4. We'll see how this progresses...

I am giddy for more encounters between the Duke and Annabelle! I'm hoping for narrowed eyes and cunning remarks! Haha.
