I had read this once but I don´t recall the story. Second read starting off - I really enjoy Joe Hill´s tales.

I found it a refreshing-naive piece of quick fiction. For me it is a homage to books and book lovers and to stories and to writers and readers. It is written in a good setting - and old, simple but mysterious 24h bookstore with cryptic books and shady customers from a many centuries old secret society of book lovers/keepers... What is not to like about it? Read it on Kindle, as contradictory as it may seem. LOL

I am glad I got this one - always felt reading Dan Brown is somewhat like having a Big Mag - completely fake, terribly poor nutritional value, cheap but sometimes, it´s fun to indulge some crappy habits once in a while. Literary fast food at it´s finest. The same basic formula - a great mystery, a conspiracy to cover it up, a murder, a villain and some historic locale and setting, with Tom Hanks on top of it all LOL

This is an amazing book, evidently it served as inspiration for many different novels (or even, many consider that Elric has been frankly ripped off by other authors). Nowadays I have a feel that this series of books is some sort of a hidden gem as even as an avid reader I had never known the Eric book series before. Great great fantasy and a pleasure to read.

Não consegui terminar - não me prendeu a atenção. Premissa legal, porém, se esforça demais por fazer uma apologia cristã. Ficou chato.

About 60 percent in and it is the best audiobook production I have ever come across. Thrilling.

Acabei de pegar uma referencia a Edgar Allan Poe (A Mascara da Morte Rubra), quando fazem o ritual de chamar a morte - Morte está segurando um palito com queijo e abacaxi e dizem a ele - "Espero que a festa esteja boa". e Morte responde "Está, mas só até a meia noite, pois é a hora em que esperam que eu tire a máscara".
