This a first person POV book. Telling the characters life story. And yet the voice feels almost completely detached from the story and yet I feel so much sadness and dread for the character.

I am 25 pages into this book and am already filled with existential dread.

I completely forgot that vampires and werewolves existing are not some closely held secret in this universe. And not even that they exist, but that the Cullens are vampires and the Quileute Tribe are werewolves.
Like the Quileute tribe just tells everyone. I’m obsessed. Like why are the Cullens staying there????? They could live anywhere else where no one knows about them. But no. They went back. Bizarre.

I have not read Twilight in probably 10 years. Let’s see if it holds up.

Contemplating dnf-ing this book. The way this book, and the main character, constantly demonize the victim’s mother makes me want throw this book at a wall. Like they have anywhere to judge when they are more concerned about the news being mean to them then they are about ensuring a serial r*post doesn’t attack another victim. Zero stars so far.
