[spoilers] i’m so excited for baby tristram to turn 3 days old !!

can’t believe they let me into my first bsecs before i’d read this book… so excited to become a real eighteenth-centuryist in 500 pages’ time!

i'm pronouncing the title like the old english "wyrm" btw. i didn't suffer through oxford's undergrad english curriculum for nothing.

judith butler said this was a good book so obviously i made my girlfriend find me a copy xx

currently suffering the consequences of my stubborn refusal to ever engage with psychoanalytic theory at any point in my english degree

my goodreads activity may make it appear like i am enjoying a cosy night of reading, but alas i am just bingeing audiobooks whilst going through the hell of moving accommodation in the middle of the night x

actually the most relatable thing i’ve ever read

as much as i love a bit of verbosity, this could have benefitted from a tincy bit more editing

listening to this as an audiobook bc i just learnt that the organisation for autism research has a libby catalogue that i could get a library card for -- 20 mins in and so far she's doing some fairly intense straw-manning of neurodiversity and the social model of disability (which i do have problems with, don't get me wrong, but it doesn't reject 'impairment'), but i am remaining open-minded about where she's going
