Our fmc is so, so condescending towards the native Arab and is dehumanising towards a people she thinks shes part of. Imagine being shocked that someone has well-rounded dimensions to them because they're "street" and "a real arab".

I don't think I'm gonna like the author. This is my first Bukowski; I'm only 4 minutes in and already the characterisation and use of the female characters is deeply uncomfortable.

The 7 Sands is 100% based on Palestine and the author did it correct.
