Brian McClellan paints an amazingly full and robust world in his Gunpowder Mage series.

I just finished Malus Domestica and gave it 5 stars.S.A. Hunt does an amazing job developing his characters and his monsters. His writing style reminds me of a combination of Larry Correa and Patricia Briggs.

Like the prose. Giving myself a practice task to write a description of a photograph every day. If Gropp can do it, so can I. Not far enough into it to really know whether I like it or not, but the characters seem a little flat. It does remind me of Dalhgren, though.
