This book was a delightful read. The author has a gift for storytelling, She handles her subject matter, which is her life (3 marriages, a cancer diagnosis, an involuntary career change, as well as many a simple moment) with humor, poise and grace. These nibble-size essays are interspersed with, at times. touching poetry.

So I'm been reading Dickens. Barnaby Rudge. I gotta say, nothing rocks my boat like reading a classic, in this case a classic writer. Dickens was a huge influence in writing my novel, THE PERFECT STRANGER. He was the model for developing my characters.
As an extra bonus, the subject of Barnaby Rudge, (the attack on the House of Commons in 1780) has eerie similarities to the attack on our Capitol.
