I started this book a year ago while on a backpacking trek right before I found out I was pregnant. I lost it for a while before picking it back up once I rediscovered it tucked away in my dusty forgotten gear.

This book was a real joy. Excited to read more Brandon Sanderson books in the future. I know I will read Cosmere books and can’t wait for more from Hoid!

For the record, socks with sandals & mullets rule!

I am absolutely loving this book. The information is so helpful, I love her tone, and the recipes sound DELISH. So glad I got this one.

The characters, world, storyline is soo good. It’s not too predictable. & just the right amount of lusting after her enemy 🤣

I love Fenrys. I’m SO into Dorian and Manon’s stories. It’s just about to get so epic I know it.

Great info at the beginning of the book- enjoyed reading it & like how it’s formatted! Most of this I already knew but it’s good to get a refresher:)

Thistle: Thistle is 6 months old and a tiny genius! She caught on to “Targeting” and “Name Recognition” immediately. She’s extremelllly food driven.
Ocean: 10yo. Afraid of clicker noise. A one-trick pony, only wants to high-five 😂

It’s always tough to leave a group of characters for another. So it took me a bit to get going on this book, but by 150 pages in I’m pretty invested in all these dynamics in the southern continent.

Yrene has grown on me and I can see the ole love quadruplet switcharoo that’s about to happen. Wondering how long it will take to heal Chaol

Looooving it. Can’t wait for Aedion and Gavriel to meet. & also can’t wait for all of these storylines to merge!!! Manon where u goin girl!!!

Loving the build so far but SO much yet to happen!! Spoilers below


In the other books, even with what Chaol did, I couldn’t fathom a world where they didn’t find their way back to each other or somehow feel the love bond they had before. However, reading Chaol in this book I hardly even recognize him! I LOVE Aelin and Aedions bond. Can’t wait to see Rowan enter the picture, and WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO DORIAN

Once again reaaaally liking this order!! I don’t think I would’ve enjoyed the series as much if I had started with this one. I feel much more attached to the characters and actually know what’s going on. That being said I’m sort of excited to get it over with and get back to where I was 🤣

Was tough to get into at first since I am reading this as book 3.5 BUT after pushing through a bit I’m super glad I read in this order!

It seems like Throne of Glass (& its characters) was the perfect beginning for the series. Celaena referenced the events from The Assassins Blade throughout the first 3 books so often that I’m stoked to finally get some background, especially on Sam. Excited to keep reading!

Feel like I’m holding my breath waiting for something to happen!

Love Manon & Abraxos’ story. & Rowan is slowly warming.

I do feel unnerved by Tamlin… what the heck will he do?? And why is the bone carver a common theme even though he is unattainable? What is Nesta capable of? WHERE IS LUCIEN?! So many questions 🤣

CUTTHROAT FEYRE!!! Daaaaang girl. I am loooving how things have played out so far.

The fact that she had the weaver singing dreadful wind and rain/cruel sister 😍😍 such a haunting yet beautiful song… a perfect choice for that scene.

Also, how the heck did I end up loving evil ‘make feyre dance til she pukes’ Rhys from Under the Mountain??! Did not expect to ever start loathing Tamiln but I’m loving this turn of events.

Just a lovely little book. Just when you think you’ve heard it all about mushrooms, someone else drops a knowledge nugget ☺️

Didn’t think I’d like it but… I love it! Not a subject I know much about, but was ready to dive in. So fascinating, and a plus that it’s generally accessible given the subject matter.
