I have finally picked this back up after quite a long break. I think it might be my first DNF! There’s so much that doesn’t make sense with the succession line. Too many characters. The slow burn is not a slow burn at all!

So far, not enjoying all that much. The romance feels so forced, not a slow burn at all. I’ve enjoyed the world building and the magic system. I would like to get to know Tovens character more, it’s interesting to see how cold he becomes right after a relatively sweet moment. Briony pisses me off so much, she lost EVERYTHING and keeps going on and on about how handsome Toven is, how she aches for his touch. PMO
