i know its unfair to complain about the fact that richards dorm is in monmouth house bc this book predates trc by many a year so if there WAS inspiration taken its mstief reheating donna tartts nachos but like……. richard papen you will never be richard gansey (which actually is kind of part of what this book is about if you think abt it)

purchased this from my library for literally 1€ in the hopes that it would jog my memory on a canadian criminal case i had to watch a documentary about and write an essay on in my canadian law class that is virtually ungoogleable bc i remember ZERO identifying details about it. i fear the 1€ might have been too much even for this drivel but what else did i expect honestly

isnt it funny how henry crawford is literally the guy dolly alderton thinks mr darcy is. except that he doesnt “invent negging” or some shit, he’s just the guy who thinks no means convince me. LOL. LMAO, even.

hold on is this writing fire dot meme ????? i thought this was supposed to be her flop era why is mary crawford a legend

feeling so tumblr user being hit by apollos dodgeball rn im never coming up w a theory abt a book ever again

lots of punchy and/or poignant quotes in this but HOW is one supposed to take a man seriously when he very earnestly 100% seriously while trying to make the point that experiences in early childhood etc psychologically impact somebody who will later become a criminal lists the fact that his mother might have THOUGHT of having an abortion as one of the “crimes” perpetuated against this guy. LOL. LMAO, even

currently reading die großen prozesse der bundesrepublik bei gerhard mauz, published by gisela friedrichsen. using this as a placeholder bc ive already used up all the review space for the 2026 version of this LOL

“this month i’m reading mansfield park for real” i say for the fourth month in a row, only to abandon ms austen once again to hang out with my good friend daeron targaryen instead (one of the very few targaryens to earn that description). its not my fault, hotd s3 made me do it

rereading the beartown series broke my heart so badly i decided to reread another one of my unhinged childhood favourites 🥴

on top of everything else going on douglas stuart rly said brokeback mountain with jack and ennis alive but everyone is STILL unhappy……. king of making my me sosososo depressed

if i had a husband and he started quoting TOLSTOY at me in the middle of an argument im sorry but he would not live long enough to have an emotionally fraught encounter with a hot young soldier so this lady is already stronger than me tbh

author hates counting crows big yellow taxi, immediate 5 stars. this is not a joke, which just proves that i am the exact target audience for this book and i fucking loved it

rilo kiley mentioned?? god this author’s music taste must be fire
