Finally got a book with good pacing! I’m happy that this one hooks me at every chapter. The one downside I’ve noticed is common with enemies to lovers - they forget to actually show why the characters are enemies. It’s one thing to TELL ME the Detriers are bad and kill people. I want a vivid memory or something to make me FEEL hatred the way Elsbeth supposedly should. Or else she comes off stubborn and mean.
