I like the guys in this story. My husband is a veteran and he and his buddies talk just like this, it's actually very comfortable.

It's literally the missing guy. I keep yelling when a new clue is uncovered. How many more pieces do we need? I am convinced I am right. Locking in my prediction now.

I have issues. SPOILER-ish? Maybe? Kinda? No names.

One: why is no one suspecting the only person who has been missing from the start? He has experience in the winter in those mountains and he is the only one we have no cabeza for? Two: Why have we not searched his luggage yet??? How is no one suspicious of this??? I would NOT want to be stranded with ANY of these people smh

I have yet to read a single Darcy Coates book that I did not thoroughly enjoy. I fall in love with her characters every time and there is never a dull moment. This is the same and it gives me the warm cozy👌🏼🖤

Have you ever seen Gravity Falls? One episode will give you more "other" style lovecraftian-verse than this whole book will. You also won't have to hear the same things repeated over AND OVER.

Why do I need to be reminded about EVERYTHING. Like how Simon has a chimera eye from a sibling he ate in the womb. Why do I know this? Because I have been reminded of the fact EVERY chapter. I am also very familiar with Kara's divorce. IDK just tell me something new or get over it 🙄

I just want the next thing to happen!! Why is nothing happening?? I feel like we are dragging our feet and now we're waiting for months in story time??? It's confusing, interesting, but there isn't enough happening.

Kyle is the worst. Cartoonishly at times. I'm very intrigued with the story but I need something to grip me in. The plot is good but it's dragging.

I'm crying that this is the last book and I'm already this far into it 😭 I love Clare and Dorran so much 🖤

Dorran and Clare are solid survivors and so sweet together. I'm excited to see more of this apocalyptic world. Go get Beth!

Ok these two I just can't. I love them. I love how Darcy Coates writes her characters. The women are always tough as nails and soft and caring at the same time. When shit hits the fan and their man in in danger, there is nothing stopping them. They fight before flight in the middle of chaos and the men will stop at nothing to protect these gems. That's me and my husband and idk I just love it.

Fast resolution, Dorran is on board now, fight over, same page and this is becoming a favorite. I love these two and the apocalypse is so freaking new and intriguing.

I am so glad that we are getting clarification on what is happening in the world but I need Dorran back and I need him and Clare to make up and him to find out what's going on too.
