It has been a MINUTE since I read a dark romance and I wasn't ready 😂 I have a soft spot for the Hollow's Row series though and this is giving those vibes

You know .. I dont know if I like Sturman. I like Joe, and Val is fine until she is a sterotypical know-it-all marine biologist, (I am one so I can say that) but Sturman is miserable, and he acts it. I get grief never goes away but he is being awful and making decisions based solely on "why not, whatever" and I need him to get his shit together.

Ok some of this dialogue is not how people talk. It's like every time Val starts to give her marine biologist exposition, Will is just a sounding board of "hows that doctor?" "What does that mean?" Just to keep her taking and it isn't natural. Then he talks about his dead wife and she jumps him? Then has the audacity to say "you should really get over it" ?? Like what?? 🙃

Steve is disgustingly racist and I bet the squid spit his ass out 👌🏼

Will acts and talks like he was in the Navy, my husband and his shipmates all talked like this lol. And I love a competent marine biologist in horror!! Let's go Humboldt Squid!!

As a marine biologist I can tell you that I fear large gaggles of sentient, man eating giant squid and you should to. 🦑

My daughter is loving this! The story is cute and I love the sisters, they act like real kids and the dialogue is refreshingly not spelled out for you, there's a little mystery. I'm related to the Brother's Grimm so this is a fun read to read to my daughter 🖤

I. KNEW IT. When I started this I told my husband "this is going to be some super mutant soldier shit like from Fallout I know it." And I was right. And it's awesome.

I like the General, and everyone is working together like a team planning to go rogue and I love it. The story of corruption is getting good!
