Already tired of the repeated references to them being middle aged, older, age reminders, just—ok we get it, they’re not in their teens or twenties. Once we establish that can we please move on? It’s not like they’re in their twilight years and no one expects them to be able to find love again.

So annoyed. She’s been held captive for two days and she doesn’t seem very nervous or afraid. A man is thrown into her cell and she is immediately sexually attracted to him. Yeah, ok, but why?? Why can’t authors write anything aside from sexually charged scenes in even the worst situations??

So I already don’t like Rosalind because she doesn’t immediately shut down the idea of Knox’s story, and she second guesses the decision to pass. And I’m supposed to believe she’s a good friend? I would starve before I sold out a friend.

Very brutal rape scene at the beginning. So far heartbreaking. I like Lily, she was realistically traumatized until her grandmother stepped in and forced her into therapy. Now she’s in college and, while she’s nervous around other people, especially men, she is trying to grow.
