Reading this because sometimes I make up how other people are feeling and then "empathize" aka feel it deeply. And, it's not helpful.

Can't wait for this whole thing to go off the wires.

I’m listening to the audiobook and the accents are Irish and it took me until 15% of the way in to realize she’s saying “murder detective” not “mortar detective”

Oh man the layers are being peeled back!

I think I would have a harder time accepting what is happening than the characters are, but I must know what's going to happen.

The word rumination keeps coming to mind

I am a Dani Shapiro completist, and she never lets me down <3

HUGE twist and time jump, which I love. TW: obscene child abuse. I am pushing through it but dang it gets intense.

Mad that this is an audible exclusive but dang it’s blowing my mind so far.

Reading this with Wayne! I’m slightly ahead of him and just let him know it made me gasp. Unwilling time travel and a father/son relationship, and an author imagining humanity’s future.

I keep expecting to DNF this because I haven’t actually read any of the King books she talks about but it’s really compelling! And now I want to read The Shining for sure.

Mary Stone is a badass.

Came in here to ask: do both the Gallowglass and Christopher plot points feel … inorganic? There’s no real tension or plot-based reason for gallowglass to feel the way he does and I didn’t even remember Christopher from book 1 and now he’s her overprotective best friend? Idk vibes are off.

😱 this PLOT!

I cannot remember the last time a book made me cry!

Goodness this is getting good. And written in such an interesting way.

Witches help Churchill win WW2? I’m in!

No joke this is the third time I tried to read this and on this try I am super into it. So weird how that happens!
