It's frivolous, ridiculous and entertaining and fair enough gmbeach read but don't understand why anyone would rate this five stars unless they think reading people magazine counts as essential literature... different strokes for different folks I guess.

I love this Author and will read anything she writes so the writing really is the star of the show for me.
The character of Maite in this story is so unlikeable however- she's clearly a bit of a loser and a fantasist (granted her family & side characters aren't exactly nice either). I am finding her side of the story a bit tedious.
The historical setting really makes it all come to life however....
