I understand where the critiques of this book are coming from, but in a way some of those flaws are also what make this book so engaging and vibrant to me. Being at times self conscious, vaguely plotless, and unlikable, but also so deeply relatable and painfully reflective, feels in a way like the exact literary representation of my (and Rooney's) generation and the time we live in. 4.5
