This story has turned into a slog. I find myself tempted to abandon it.

Tedious.

So far, the story strongly reminds me of "Outlander" by Diana Gabaldon... Which is not a bad thing.

I just finished rereading this book for the third time. Like Margaret At wood's better known "The Handmaid's Tale," Sheri Tepper's "The Gate to Women's Country" was written in the late 1980s, the early years of the women's rights movement. It too imagines the world after an apocalypse of mankind's making. Both imaginings are frighteningly pertinent in the world as it stands I 2017.

Rereading to refresh story before beginning next book in the series.

Already I've seen spellos (defence instead of defense). Surely the author wrote the story using something other than a manual typewriter. Did he intentionally turn off his spellchecker? That being said, the story premise is interesting. I'll see how it progresses.

A rollicking good fun read. Colin Hughes reminds me of the "Dread Pirate Roberts."

It's going to be a slow go.

Abandoned as tripe.

Turns out I've read this book before. It was okay; no where near the caliber of Gate to Women's Country, Raising the Stones, or Grass. I'm not going to reread it.

Interesting but slow read. I'm reading it on my phone when I don't have my tablet (my usual ereader) with me.

So far, I'm quite disappointed. I enjoyed the first book in the series. This one is a bit on the pedantic.
