Let's be clear... Having your character recite a bunch of trivia about a TV show isn't comedy. When the other character says 'you're going to lose people' he's right and you should cut that shit out. Isn't there enough lore in this book already to avoid having to add Blue's Clues lore as well?

Impressive opening that works and pays off on solve stuff and then chapters and chapters of wasting my god damn time. Holy shit, I am begging you, focus, plot relevant stuff, no more gd *lore*. Somehow this section is managing to make me even dislike Donut, which nothing has done thus far.

Sorry, I just can't get over the fact that about 5 minutes into this book the main character goes 'oh yeah we bad guys used to all call the Jedis the "Jays"' and not only have I never seen them do that, now more than a dozen books into this series, but also it's so incredibly dumb as a concept I can't believe it.
