The antisemitism is so jarring it's baaically unreadable.

Feels just pointlessly conplicated, not getting much value from having to re-read every boring overlong sentence.

The story is good and it's nice to read about a lesser known region and with a focus on modern day Kenya.
However some parts are poorly written, the supposedly American characters talk like Kenyans which is jarring, and the political writing doesn't fit in with the rest of the book.
