Damn!

The writing is so clear and yet every page is filled with essential information. Every page leaves me wanting more as I learn about this world. I'm surprised it's only a standalone novel due to how much more and implications this world has.
....
I'm going to have to read all of Brandon Sanderson's books, aren't I.

As a promise to my best friend, I will read this book (I'm so excited).
In exchange, she will give For the Wolf A FAIR CHANCE (and not a measly 50 pages)

It has been.... 3years since I picked this book to start reading, just before I got married.
I am finally back, determined to finish.

The first fifth of this book is... Rough. The first chapter? Like pulling teeth.

It's so convoluted,full of information only half expressed in immense amounts of dialogue between characters we don't even know yet. I love brisk dialogue, but I can't even tell who's who yet.

I know it settles down soon! I'm sure the editors/author tried to do these opening sections multiple times. I wish it was smoother.

It's a quarter of the way through 2024 and I haven't yet finished (and only barely started) a book yet. *sigh*

This is actually so good, adults-actually-adulting. It's refreshing to have mature characters, even when they make mistakes.

I know the broad strokes of this story, I am not ignorant of the end. Besides reading Circe countless times, I am well versed in Greek mythology. And yet, Madeline Miller does well at fleshing out the characters, at weaving the story, pulling you into it all.

I should really trust Beth by now

For some reason, the writing and prose has felt very young and immature so far. It doesn't sound or feel like these are 25+ year olds.

Okay so I started reading this book again while being induced for the birth of my little girl.... only to realise we were going to use the same name!
My little Tessa arrived a few days later and I'm ready to keep reading. 😄

Chapter 40
Ron's extreme stress and unease at the whole massage and spa experience is rather entertaining

The way I cackled with laughter, CACKLED I tell you, at the end of chapter 26!! Honestly I love this.

This Who-Done-It is reminiscent of the TV series Death in Paradise that I love.

This is genuinely a great read and I have absolutely no idea what might happen, I have no clue as to the solution etc..... can't wait until work ends so I can continue listening

The gasps and shocks were audible in this chapter.

Woooooww that was the WRONG way to go about it. Oh boy.

I hate the part in romance books where the main couple needs to make some hard decisions, or they hurt eachother while trying to help eachother, or whatever it takes to have that large conflict. I hate the hurt!
Let it be good, please just let it be good 🙏🏻
