The way Emily Wilson talks about the work of Homer in the introduction and translation notes gives me chills. It’s feels like such a gift to be able to participate in something that is so clearly what she was meant to do on this earth, her understanding of these stories is so bone deep.

Perfect book to start at 12am just a light read 🤩 I have been meaning to get to this for a while, really enjoyed Emily Wilson’s translation of The Odyssey so I’m excited to read her Iliad, particularly how she handles the Patroclus and Achilles connection
