I feel like I did not memorize the 3rd plague as lice but instead the gnats because lice is way more memorable and traumatizing to me as a kid who memorized them. Next up are the flies and then I’m going in blind bc my memory is fuzzy oh and I remember the firstborn one… yikes

Time for the frogs plague

The Israelite girl is a little too giddy for this it kind of rubs me the wrong way. I always got the vibe that these plagues affected the Israelites too and they were kind of apathetic about leaving. If they’re excited they’re definitely going to change their minds once they step food in the desert elements.

Reading what do you call this? Biblical fiction? Biblical historical fiction? I can’t remember the synopsis but I’m trying to use my background knowledge and foreshadowing. I think Moses is about to show up and that one guy she likes will drown at sea at that one part. But this girl doesn’t even know but I think her lil friend will convince her to get out of there

My coworker gave this a 3/5 and to me that’s a pretty mid rating but Dom said her rating system may not be the same as mine but either way it rubbed me the wrong way (as she often does) so now I really want to read it to see my own opinion

You shouldn’t be allowed to publish a book if you have dialogue without quotation marks

If anything, I don’t think American Evangelicals have anything to worry about. It’s like trendy to be Christian now. I was just talking to a friend about this. Growing up in the 2000s and 2010s I had the understanding that I was in the minority going to church and stuff and I got made fun of for it. Now the ones who made fun of me are acting kinda holier than thou. What?

Okay I find it interesting how the Australian Christians kind of influenced American Evangelicals. Almost like fear mongering. Australia is becoming more and more nonreligious and the Australian Evangelicals and Americans got in the same room and basically the American Evangelicals got all scared that Australia was about 10 years ahead of America. So America would eventually become non religious too.

Just making me mad

Similar to other books I’ve read. Just baffling how the party of “morals” ended up supporting a person like Trump. This book and other books I’ve read were written by individuals who grew up conservative and it’s just so wild how they switched up. Truly a cult.

It’s written in such a way that I wish a lot of history was written. It’s very narrative nonfiction. I’m enjoying it (I’m still not a fan of the Jeffersons)
