The first part was some of the most tedious reading I've had to force my way through, and Luo Ji and his fabricated love interest is the pinnacle of cringe and alpha male misogynistic grossness. I just started part 2 and it already seems to be picking up 🤞 hoping for less of the "child like innocence" of his beloved waifu who he totally didn't hire as a mail order bride on demand 🥴

Lord but this author is wordy. I also feel like its just a collection of small dramas mashed together instead of one main thing driving the plot. Like it does have one thing you'd think would be the main conflict, but it's rarely brought up and instead the main character goes on a bunch of side quests that are easily resolved and over quickly. Very confusing why a whole VERY long book was written in that case.

DNF'd, it was too oddball for me.

This is currently being DNF'd. Maybe I'm stuck in my romantasy rut a little TOO much, but it was just too oddball for me right now. Maybe I'll pick it back up at some point and find out what ever happens with Harriet and Snabe.
