Wartime book about nazi occupation of France and how many French people were involved with dehumanising and then sending Jewish people to concentration camps.
I found the book at times very moving as great cruelty and death was inflicted on so many.

Reads like a crime thriller, really enjoyed this book.

Very enjoyable and really got the feeling of 1940s L.A. Two hard nose detectives out to solve the case of a murdered female nicknamed the black dahlia. Both have their own issues that impact on the case with lots of twists and turns.
This is the first of Ellroys LA quartet and can't wait to read the next one .
