Ugh this made me want to fall in love so bad

”The second oil lamp sputtered faintly to life. Before the bright yellow flame, half of Wei Wuxian’s face lay in the light, while the other half remained in darkness.”

Loved how this sentence foreshadows the moral complexity and inner conflict of the character

Things are starting to get exciting. Lotus Pier has been taken over by the Wen clan; Wei Wuxian has rescued Jiang Cheng, who has lost his golden core, and has also found a way for him to restore it. But the Wen clan manage to track down Wei Wuxian, torture him, and eventually dump him in the Burial Mounds. Wen Ning and Wen Qing has been introduced as newfound allies in the midst of it all.

I’m starting to understand why Madame Yu resents Wei Wuxian so much. She was jealous of Jiang Fengmian’s bond with Cangse-sanren. Jiang Fengmian had feelings for Cangse-sanren but gave up when she chose Wei Changze, only then accepting Madame Yu’s proposal. It’s easy to see why she’d feel like a second choice, especially while suspecting Wei Wuxian is Jiang Fengmian’s son

I feel like them being trapped in that cave is what truly deepened Wangxians connection. Wei Wuxian seeing Lan Wangji at his absolute worst (funny how he seems to lose his composure when he’s at his lowest point mentally/physically but not while drunk), them working together to slay the Yao beast and caring for each other. Also - corpse sludge, yum!
