This one is quite dense, but I’m still intrigued by it enough to keep going!

This story is really clever in that as it flicks generations, there are little links between each story so it always feels woven and added to.

Another story set in the Middle East! This one is quite unique as set in biblical times, which makes it really historically interesting to me.

I enjoy Arthur’s story and am glad it’s focused on him, with some flicking to the past and future where we find some common threads. Clever!

Light murder mystery, easy to read, not standout

Different stories all slightly linked across generations by the river/water. It’s very pretty writing. Not sure I’m loving it yet.

This one is quite gripping - shows how cult mentality can rope someone in and how dangerous it is. The poor parents trying to find a way to talk to their daughter.

I’m enjoying this story of a girl who finds herself as an early settler in NZ - the setting is painted well so you get a good vibe of how hard it must have been.

Apparently I’m in an NZ setting zone with my books! This one is about a young girl who ended up in NZL in 1840s so very early settlers. Some of my ancestors arrived around then so it’s interesting.

The audio reader is butchering the Māori words so badly but it’s a great story so far of a tourist being pulled into a cult community…

Enjoying this crazy story. Reminds me of Ms Peregrines home for peculiar children for sure.

Some little gems in here but also a lot of moments where I’m like “that’s a bit much”.

I’m just not getting sunk into this one.

A little triggering as deals with post partum depression and someone I know just took their life with this horrible condition. :(

This book!!! I’m so invested in this man’s life that my heart was actually racing as the character drew up into to his pivotal day…and the emotion of what happens. No spoilers!

Oh the poor lead of this book with her financial issues and very messy family dynamics!
