luca having a macklin celebrini poster in his bedroom... this implies that he is a fan of the san jose sharks and not the new york rangers or even the islanders (since he is from long island, I guess)... his first flaw

stuyvesant JUMPSCARE

it has been a hundred pages but i'm starting to get a little interested now

can't say i was expecting a sidney crosby reference in a ya book named after a chappell roan song but heyyyy

"I wondered why it was that I had so many irritating people in my life."

simon, man, what the hell are you doing?

"Why is he [Simon Devereaux] on a show with a budget of like five cents instead of playing a sociopathic billionaire on HBO or a sociopathic vampire on AMC or a sociopathic line chef on Hulu?"

this is actually sending me into orbit wdym there's a reference to succession, interview with the vampire, *and* the bear in here?
cat sebastian i should've known you would have excellent taste in television

scott hunter really is like gay hockey jesus

THE INSTAGRAM ACCOUNT 😭

the fact that this is all happening at the same time as 𝘳𝘰𝘭𝘦 𝘮𝘰𝘥𝘦𝘭 is still tripping me up but GOD i love ilya and troy's friendship so much

oh my god the pike children officiating their play wedding 😭😭

roseeeee

i think the heated rivalry internet made me very nervous to start reading this book but idk the july section wasn't even really angsty you guys...!

another chapter of bangers...
- oooh this shane&ilya on-ice interaction through troy's eyes is so silly 😋 poor hayden lmao
- ilya being happy and supporting troy YAY
- i'm glad troy got to talk to ryan and actually apologized #growth

" 'Did you think I just naturally smelled like apples? Because that’s adorable.'
'No! I thought it was, like, psychosomatic. Or whatever.'
'You 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘥 me to smell like apples?'
'We can drop this, y’know.'
'Are you turned on by the smell of apples, Troy?' "

troy going crazy because of harris's apple-scented body wash is soooo 😭

this chapter is so freaking good you guys icl...
i love that the Kingfisher is the queer NHL star nyc base and it's so sweet that ilya brings troy there for the first time 😭
troy bringing up shane at the end I LOVEEE it's so great that ilya is always #noticing other guys being queer and now it's turned on him!!
ALSO i just know that ilya is going to start using "perceptive" in conversation with shane now

troy not understanding the point of a slow cooker + somehow not knowing what a cake pop is + saying "salmon" when harris asked him what his favorite treat was... there is not a thought in this man's headddd someone educate him about food my god 😭

ilya is such a good captain here ☹️

also troy thinking about shane hollander is making me giggle boyyy

"Troy didn’t know what a cake pop was, but it sounded like the kind of thing that Harris would like."

troy somehow not knowing what a cake pop is + saying "salmon" when harris asked him what his favorite treat was... there is not a thought in this man's headddd someone educate him about food my god 😭

the all-star competition chapters in these books are always fun because of all the crossovers... SHANEEEE

ilya showing up at the kingfisher just to be a menace is sooohfhdh

ilya out here saving lives...

“ 'I don’t want to alarm you, but I’m quite fond of you, Ryan Price.' ”

a wild ilya rozanov appears‼️

i would be crying in the car too jfc

waow 🥹

i know i'm not cut out to be the main character of a romance because this situation would have on the brink 😭
