No one has ever described it like this. God. This is nothing like Jawbone but it reminds me of Jawbone. What is more disgusting and consuming than falling in love with your best friend? I am all wound and you are the golden pus that fills me. I want to roll in this book.

So far, this is exceedingly delightful--like a more understated and focused Tess of the Road, or a more vibrant and realistic Natural History of Dragons. The prose is exceedingly readable and I'm enjoying the quiet Victorian pace, the frustration of a woman trying to find her way into the world of science by any means necessary.

The writing is so lush and pretty but lord it makes it hard to follow the action
