I am finding a lot of relation to the depiction of color in each scene and her emotions. Scenes described as warm, with the glowing lights from the fire, are accompanied by a feeling of numbness and almost calm compliance by the narrator. Scenes that are bright and clear are followed by a clear mind and deeper thinking.
