I just cannot connect with this series despite loving one of the Author's past works. I am giving up, which is something I never do with any book I have started.

This was a re-read for me. I enjoy Spider's style. Some of the essays haven't aged well, rants against second hand smoking laws just fail to resonate this many years later.

Fun quick read

Not my favorite Hearne book. I wanted to love this series but I could not connect with the world premise or the characters

So far, Holly Black is maintaing tight storytelling.

So far, this one's reading better than book 1 of this series. The lead character feels a bit more 'real' and multi-dimensional. But my favorite character is still the Hobgoblin, and Al's Goth assistant.

It starts off as lively as I anticipated. Kim Harrison is great at providing a fast paced story.

could have been sooo much better. Needed a lot more character depth, and a whole lot less preachiness.

finished just now. I can see how some of Ken Follett's usual fans would not like this book. But, I think it is masterfully done. It was not an easy read, but it brought to life a piece of history most people rarely consider. well worth the 973 pages.
