I loved this story. It started out slow and quiet but by the end, I didn't want to put it down. It left parts open ended. It makes me think of that feeling when you have lifelong friends and you want to know how you all end up. This had me thinking about what happened still after finishing the story. The characters are great and the story is pleasant. If there was a sequel, I would read it. It's classic people.

This was easily a "couldn't put it down" novel. I'm usually a slow reader. This is the kind of text that everyone should read. It exposes you to a modern but vastly different culture. I love the facts at the start of each chapter. I also find myself falling in love with Nigeria just like Adunni despite the hardships Adunni faces. Adunni is an inspirational character and someone we all wish we knew. You're rooting for

Amanda Olson is finished with The Girl in His Shadow (Nora Beady, #1)
I like the story. It's a little longer and drawn out compared to other trilogies. The medical discussions might be a trigger for others. It's a standard romantic historical fiction that leaves an open ending for the next text. I like the characters a lot. I think we can picture the type of characters in the story.

Amanda Olson is finished with Speak to Me of Home
This was a great book. I like that the author seems to have some similarities to the main character Daisy being Irish and Puerto Rican herself. It's a beautifully written story that spans generations. I love books that span generations as "Context"is one of my Strengths. I also appreciate that the text addresses health insurance and how often it isn't there when you need it to be.
