Is it foundational to hospice work and care? yes. Is it also SO EXCEEDINGLY 1969? holy moley also yes. I"m not quite halfway through, but it's so clearly the product of a different era, where medicine was eeeeeeeeven more paternalistic than it is today. The work was important and the insight interesting, but some of the particulars of doctors' behaviors are just gross.
