Oof this book gives me the absolute creeps

seriously can’t believe Im reading this. Even when I read “normal” romance I get all stressed about it not ending with an HEA, even though they always do. (Torment pt 2 being the one exception to that but even it ended somewhat happily in a way) and now I’m voluntarily reading one with a freaking “no HEA, this is gonna break your heart” disclaimer. Ugh. Why do I do this to myself. So nervous.

I’m not going to stop giving this a chance, but it feels as though I’m reading like a summary/cliff notes version, or an annotated one or something? Right from the start it felt like I was barging in mid-story. And the time jumps are truly jarring, and I have never felt that way about a book before, normally I like time jumps. Idk. 1/3 of the way through yet it feels more like 15 pages worth of story

It makes me a little nervous that this is often named the favorite in the series by so many acotar readers. Maybe it just hasn’t “picked up” yet idk. Prob not a good sign that I CANNOT STAND feyre, or the ridiculous # of times she’s thought of when she “killed a faerie with hate in my heart”. I’d think that’s a one time use only type of phrase. And honestly it made me roll my eyes the FIRST time.

I am enjoying this soooo much more than court of thorns and roses 🙊

Ive been DESPERATE for this book for 7+ months, which is funny because I have 3 other books by Ross that I need to read too. Something about this one just captivated me the moment I first heard of it..
Haven’t started it yet (Im making myself finish a couple more books I’m in the middle of first)
BUT: my copy arrived 9/2 and I must say I can’t stop STARING at it any chance I get- It is too freaking gorgeous.
