This should be required reading in any history class on the United States.

Ugh.

So far, this is pretty terrible. Midway through the novel, the semblance of a plot finally emerges, but the leading witches' flat characterizations and petty materialism all but murder what could have been an interesting foray into real-world based adult fantasy. The ham-fisted splicing of Norse mythology into the story paints a very thin veneer over what is an otherwise mundane drama/romance. Stick to Neil Gaiman.

This was an e-book library grab to see what all of the hubbub was about with this series.

Meh

This a fast read, but the story isn't terribly compelling so far.

Rereading parts of the Chicago Manual of Style for the publishing/editing job that I'm starting in August.
