Had this book in my “want to read” since 2020. Don’t really understand how it got there back then. Not really sure how I’m feeling. Ending of Part 1 is shocking and frustrating. Love the writing style, but definitely going to need to look up some discussion questions to see if I can critically analyze this book …

Been a while …

I’m just frustrated. Tessa is insufferable half the time. A woman who refuses to listen to anyone because “everyone is always using her as a means to an end” decides to side with a god to murder an entire bloodline to “fulfill her destiny”???? Make that make sense. And why did she choose Achaz instead of Arius?? It makes no sense. She’s her own villain.

Getting a little frustrated with this series. I still love it I just hate the “become the monsters that created you” type plot line. I understand Tessa had a horrible upbringing, but I agree wholeheartedly with Luka that she is becoming just as bad, if not worse, than those who have harmed her. She’s willing to sacrifice EVERYONE?? She needs to reel it in.
