i’ve never seen an author that can avoid writing a true smut scene for quite as long as maniscalco. it’s already been two full books😭💔

loving the book right now! it’s a lot of back and forth between slade and auren but i hope they get together soon.
one thing that is rubbing me the wrong way is that the wrath are all really judgmental of auren’s choice to go back to midas, when they don’t even know why. they haven’t asked and if they did auren probably wouldn’t tell them ig. also midas is a piece of shit.

pretty far into the book and not really a lot has changed since book 1. emilia has discovered things in the kingdom, and she always says she’s moving forward with her plan and visiting the princes to get answers, but she hasn’t really done much of that at all.
tension with her and wrath is great so…🌶
and then there is the dream/memory thing, which, in my opinion, she dismissed very quickly. ig we’ll see

pretty good so far! there has been a lot of world building/ magic politics, and not much else, which is making it a really slow. since this is a standalone i was anticipating it to move a bit faster, and since it’s been so focused on the magical components, we haven’t learned much about the characters. hoping we get to see some more relationship action soon!!

i am loving this book so far!! the atmosphere is so mysterious and fantastical.

i just finished reading rhysand’s full confession to feyre and, fuck, that hurt. he has loved her for so long and done so much for her without ever demanding anything. he was fully willing to let her remain ignorant to the situation, the mating bond, because of how selfless he is and how much he truly cares. he has been through hell, for his people, his friends, her, and he forever remains a dreamer.

really good so far, the love interest is hot but i also love rhysand.

i have been thrown off since the beginning, when the eight year olds kiss, and continue to kiss everyday until they are fifteen. she cut all ties for an unidentified reason, which i bet is an illness of some kind, and i would think that he would be more concerned than angry with her when the reunite.
