Finished - barely. Really could not find anything attractive about this book.

It is one of the most boring books I’ve had in my hands in recent years. I can’t sympathize with any of the characters, except perhaps the policeman. The relationship between Paško and Mila is not flashed out….
I’d like for someone to persuade me to finish this book.

Still find the book excruciatingly boring, characters colorless. Thriller? Not in my book. A thriller should keep you on your toes, reading deep into the night …. I don’t know if I’ll be sble to finish it although I’d love to. Can domeone give me a plot summary?

Still not excited. This author really needs to learn how to grab a reader's attention.

Phew! I could not wait. I really think the book is too long. And too disjointed for me.

I think this book is at least 100 pages too long. It is really beginning to drag. I can't wait to close the last chapter and put it down already. Towles keeps interrupting the storyline and jumping from one character to another, not to mention adding new ones all the time is becoming tedious. Yes, he fills every chapter with philosophical thoughts and various points of view, but too much is too much.

I am not sure I like one of the characters being presented in the 1st person, while the others are in the 3rd person. I find Towles's books to start slowly and seemingly without coherence, then everything gets tied up at the end. It's a mixed blessing, because the first parts of his books tend to be less riveting than the conclusions.

It is such a pleasure to read this book after Shuggie Baine. Hard to put it down at night. Ngozi Adichie’s writing is spell-binding. The characters come alive from the pages of the book.
