This book still remains to be THE best romance novel I have ever read. No matter how many times I reread this novel it absolutely never fails to bring a smile to my face, to fill my being with absolute pleasure and delight. It is amazing that a novel originally published in 1813 can still bring about such feelings of reciprocity and can so well do justice to the human condition. Jane Austen, what a brilliant writer!!

So far this books stands out as the best and most inspiring and pertinent book I have read this year by far. This is a classical text that should be read by anyone who owns land, who wants to rethink their consumer habits, or who needs a call to action to take responsibility for their relationship with the land. So really anyone. Wendell Berry reminds me of the Edward Abbey of Agriculture and I am obsessed.
