i'm very entertained... i'm a sucker for books set in new york anytime in the twentieth century... & they talk so smooth hehe

intense. venturing even more into fantasy as i try to read my last 2 books of the year cuz i seem to tear through fantasy faster! #immersive i think i have a few criticisms of this so far but it is an engaging story for sure and maybe some of my questions will be wrapped up at the end idkk

i hate to say i'm not enjoying this that much... very Stuck in the main character's head (i say stuck cuz i feel stuck) and she just tells things and moves on? barely any reflection? over halfway through the book and i hardly know who she is? i guess the message extends beyond any individual character but it's stifling to read i fear...

this is cool so far! v surprising that it was written in the 40s by a man bc he describes what women feel toward men's thoughtless actions/confidence/the patriarchy v accurately like the way someone today would describe it... (?) okayyyy 40s renaissance man... not getting those typical sexist undertones of 1900s male authors... i will be stanning cautiously...
