This is one of those books where I just KNOW a good tv adaptation would go incredibly hard.

The vibe of this is like … Good Omens if Neil Gaiman wasn’t evil and Crowley and Aziraphale were allowed to have on page gay sex if that makes sense.

I'm not going to dnf this because it's short enough that I'm determined but...hey wtf...I'm a little offended that this is bad because the Hai Tang Books edition coming out is so cute but ... HEY WTF ...

Can we talk about how this plot is repeatedly moved forward by a previously unnamed character running onto the scene, sharing relevant information, and then being killed only to never come up again?

I’m not so much reading this book as much as I am being subjected to it. I think the worst part is these characters could have been incredible if they were in literally any other book.

This translation is so bad dude why are we using Chinese familial terms and English ones in the same breath this sounds so disjointed choose one or the other 🥲. I also feel like this has a plot in the same way lacroix tastes like fruit and it’s pmo because these are cool character concepts.

I can’t really tell if it’s the story itself, the translation, or a mixture of both but…….yeah……what a pick for the first 7seas baihe 🥲
